RENDELL SCHOOLS TOUR 2023-2024
🌟 What a magical day at Surfside Elementary School with #OurSuperintendent Dr. Rendell! 🐢 Dr. Rendell had the incredible opportunity to experience all the wonders that make Surfside Elementary so special.
First stop: TechRise check-in! 🚀 Dr. Rendell joined four students as they delved into their innovative project, receiving an update on progress, while witnessing their creativity and passion firsthand.
Next up: a journey through the cosmos where Dr. Rendell got to watch as students marveled at the exploration of planets, their rotations, and orbits around the sun during a science lesson. Using Play-Doh to visualize the varying sizes of planets, it was an out-of-this-world experience!
Then, a visit to kindergarten! 🎨 Dr. Rendell had a blast learning about the class mascot and even had the joy of reading them a delightful story: "The Word Collector." 📚
But the fun didn't stop there! 🎶 Dr. Rendell was treated to a soulful performance by the chorus as they filled the air with beautiful melodies.
And last but certainly not least, a special hello to Elmer! 🐢 The beloved pet turtle and unofficial mascot of Surfside Elementary stole the show with his adorable charm.

Attention BPS Families: Sales Tax Holiday Through January 14th.
Consumers can purchase qualifying back-to-school supplies exempt from tax during the 2023-2024 Back-to-School Sales Tax Holiday. Passed by the Florida Legislature and signed into law by Gov. Ron DeSantis, the sales tax holiday begins Monday, July 24 and extends through Sunday, August 6. A second exemption period will begin Monday, January 1, 2024 and extend through Sunday, January 14, 2024. The Department of Revenue created this webpage to provide information and promotional materials for consumers, businesses, and other interested parties.
